I do meet with a group of people usually at Anodyne (otherwise known as Brewed) on sunday afternoons. Its a nice little place on Brady street just east of Humboldt. We used to meet at comet some years ago and had anywhere from 10-20 at a time. Now it is between 5-10 people every sunday. Their is a bar nearby too that I hear has some very good players but I havent experienced it. If your interested in some casual sunday games let me know.Pawn Shamanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01840080140537499257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29536626.post-82956353196333322852007-11-21T10:23:00.000-06:002007-11-21T10:23:00.000-06:00I played a few times at UWM a few years ago. We were getting complaints about how well this player was doing against much higher rated competition. So I Googled his name and and a hit on the Mexican Chess Federation's website. There we found he had a Mexican rating of 2000. Internet access in the TD room makes it easier to do this type of detective work.

So his results up to the point of his expulsion were put into a separate section for rating purposes, and his opponents in the under 1600 section received a 1/2 point bye for the round they played him in.

Cheating sucks. He's currently rated 2000 something. His USCF floor is 1800, but he may have a higher CCA floor.Pollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13747958243702670987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29536626.post-28836670607047936562007-11-20T17:30:00.000-06:002007-11-20T17:30:00.000-06:00that guy is 2100 now prolly a sandbagger or underr...that guy is 2100 now prolly a sandbagger or underrated person.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29536626.post-55317128139498561732007-11-20T14:14:00.000-06:002007-11-20T14:14:00.000-06:00I'm guessing that after the games were played in t...I'm guessing that after the games were played in the U1600 section he was somehow disqualified or ineligible for the prize so his games were placed into their own section?

Interestingly, DANIYAR IMANKULOV was one of the players involved.
