Okay, the deadline for the early entry fee was a few hours ago, at midnight, Pacific Standard Time. I had 168 entries for the main event and I sure I will receive several others today and Monday that were mailed on time. That should easily make it over 170.
ReplyDeleteWho knows what will happen but, as of now, we are ahead of last year's pace. Last year, I had 71 late entries. Anything close to that and we will surpass last year's attendance! We will see...
I appreciate your support. Without it, I could not talk the leadership of the USCF into letting me have National events like this one in our area!
By the way, thanks to your support, they have already awarded me the bid to hold the 2012 U.S. Junior Open (13-15 July 2012) and U.S. Senior Open(9-14 July 2012) again in Houston!

The expert section has more "A" players than the "A" class.
since there are more than 200 entries do winners get more $ or the same amount listed?
ReplyDeletePrizes are based on 200 full entries.
ReplyDeleteClas E and Junior players do not count as full entries.
Last year there were 234 entries, but 197 full entreis. (%100 of the prizes were paid out)
If after doing the calculations, there are more than 200 entreis, the prizes will be raised.
