(Formerly known as Getting to 2000) An adult player's quest to get an Master rating.
I will put my money on the IM :)
The 2591 rated guy is going to give a simul? ;-)Hmmmmmm, an FM with only 2193 rating?? I thought to become FM one must have 2300+ rating. Am i mistaken?
FIDE gives the title when certain events are won, like world Under 10. His FIDE rating is only 1880http://ratings.fide.com/seek.phtml?idcode=2047640&name=&offset=0
All you have to do is perform like your first norm and you will have a 2000 FIDE rating, mission accomplished!
Giving the FM tittle for winning U10 seems to be too generous, specially if the kid is only rated 1880.Jason
Trust me, little Jeffery X is master strength. The title may have been slightly premature, but he met the requirements and is playing up into it.As I often say, one day he'll be a GM and then I'll brag that I drew him. :)
BTW, I see Magnus Carlson is playing. ;)
Ivan asked me to post this:After 3 rounds, 3 people are 3/3 - Vojinovic, Xiong, and Wawrzaszek (I think). Ivan's 2/3.
Sounds like you've done well so far. Good luck today!
