Regardless of the numbers, Betaneli is probably the strongest player in the state, perhaps followed by Ashish and then Santarius.
ReplyDeleteI would put Ashish above Beataneli, since Ashish is on the way up and Betaneli is on the way down:)
ReplyDeleteYeah, also put Erik and Jeremy above me. And maybe Brian. And perhaps Guy Hoffman. All I ask for is my name to be spelled correctly. :-) See, my requirements are very reasonable.
ReplyDeleteOn a serious note though, it's difficult to consider the top two players on the list "active." Sheldon appears to play one game at a time (usually against much weaker opponent), while Robert plays one tournament every few years. His recent results include a rather slim 0.5/3 against my students: losses to Aranovich and Richards, draw vs Santarius.

Hey Alex,
ReplyDeleteJust a few more points and you will be #1.
Maybe we can arrange a double round robin between the top 4.
A round robin of top 4 with no EF and a $500 prize, winner takes it all, can be staged on a very quick notice. :-)
