Apology - 3rd Coast Chess Festival

I would like to apologize to the organizers of the 3rd Coast Chess Festival for the comments made in this blog entry.

Instead this is what I would like to say:

I would like to thank the organizers for having the event, and also for the community service projects they undertake.

The tournament was well directed and the playing conditions were excellent, although basing the prizes on 180 participants was overly optimistic. (Based on adult participation in Illinois events)

  1. why all of a sudden did you change your tune?

did the dragon lady threaten to breathe on you or was the threat of police brutality made onto you?

speak the truth! only the truth shall set you free!

  2. Not many people today make apology's, it was an upstanding gesture! The truth really is, Why are you are attempting to undermine good intentions? Chess does not need deceptive trouble makers but supportive people, as in the original post. Applause to "GETTING to 2000 (USCF)".

  3. how do you know it was 'good intentions' and not something done under duress? how do you know that the organizers did not threaten to ban him as they have banned others? how do you know the organizers did not threaten legal action for speaking the truth? how do you know the organizers did not threaten to have him jailed if he ever stepped in northbrook again (one of the organizers is a northbrook cop).

only the original blogger knows the answers to these questions and i would surmise that out of fear he will not post truthful responses if any all.

  4. I don't care if anyone bans me. I decided after talking to several people that my comments were overely critical and not balanced.

I should not just critisize and not offer alternatives and/or talk about the positives as well.

  5. Your disgruntled, attacking and disturbing behavior, clearly shows, you are not someone I would welcome at tournaments, either.
Once again, Not many people today make apology's, it was an upstanding gesture! Applause to "GETTING to 2000 (USCF)".

  7. You didnt say anything overly critical or anything resembling libel?? The prize fund, in relation to the entry fee is out of whack. There based on prizes are silly as well. IM curious why Rennasisance Knights would ban players as described by the other post.

  8. Are you the kid, who got a chess player, so mad, he grabbed you by the neck and through you up against a wall at a tournament in Joilet, IL?

  9. or was that another gopal ?

    ReplyDelete
  10. yes he is the same gopal who bumped into the other player and was choked. the other player was arrested and is in the process of being tried for assault and battery of a minor.

  11. is it also, the same gopal, who was banned from the "Chess in Chicago Forum" ?

  13. yes indeed i am the one, the only gopal menon. and first of i would like to agree with one of the anonomous quotes "speak the truth! only the truth shall set you free!" i.e one of the first posts. Now looking back this is why I was banned from the cic forum. I was banned merely inquiring about a character named crazyknights who i followed with great interest. Apparently if i brought up the matter again i would be banned. I brought it up asking why people made him feel unwelcome here for example one person calling him a coward and pathetic loser. However in that instance i was inclined to disagree with him but now I can see his point with "anonymous" constantly pointing fingers at me and questioning my integrity without looking at the events surrounding these incidents. So if you are such willing to point fingers, please reveal identity and we can talk about this. Oh and by the way "Are you the kid, who got a chess player, so mad, he grabbed you by the neck and through you up against a wall at a tournament in Joilet, IL?" nice spelling of threw!

  14. gopal you lie, it had nothing to do with innocent questions, you were publicly disrespectful to the management of Chess in Chicago Forum.

  15. As a matter of fact "anonymous" (I see you wish to poke holes at my integrity without revealing your own identity, rather cowardly no?) while I have nothing against Lammar Wilson, Izak Fishman, and Jan van de mortel (the last 2 i know personally and are very nice people) I had posed the question of why the management team didnt prevent people who were allowed to disrespect him for expressing his (often funny) opinion. As it transpired, these questions were never answered. And once again, I will ask you kindly to reaveal yourself if you would like to discuss how bad of a person I am somewhere else because this is obviously not the place to do it and as of now I will not respond to any more of "anonymous" posts.

  17. anon that calls this kid a lier - which of the cronies of the dragon lady are you?

the cop that abuses cop power? the overweight, rarely employed, child support ducking thing that posses as part of the male gender? or one of the illegal aliens that sleeps on the floor of the dragon lady's den?

  18. are you the 'cronie' of gopal----who was kicked out of a tournament in Grayslake, IL.?

  19. wait you may not be a cronie of the dragon lady - you may be the dragon lady herself!

I must go and get my gas mask to be protected from the toxic gasses spewing forth from your polluted self.
